... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. As I transcribe it here, I have tried to update it a bit and give the characters/story more depth than what I had when I was younger. Hopefully it all gets pulled together!

It was a random occurrence and a phenomena. Matthew should not exist, and yet he does. Alfred accidentally stumbled upon him as a child, but it was not a memory he would soon forget. Matthew is merely a reflection of nature. He doesn't stay for long. His time is fleeting, because at the end of every autumn, he vanishes, taking the roses with him. Matthew will grow to the age of a young man, and live on forever with the roses, seemingly never aging after that. The two grow up together, but when Alfred makes a terrible mistake, he risks his best friend's life. Is it fixable? Or has Alfred already lost the one thing he unknowingly treasures? One thing is for certain; Matthew is going to die.

"And why not after school or in the weekend?" "Because there's no thrill to it. Please, Louisa." He asked again. I sighed. "What's in it for me, Liam?" He chuckled. "You get to spend time with me! Liam Gilbert, your tour guide, the guy you come to when you don't want to study!" "Let's make a deal," I smirked, "if I ditch with you then you have to study with me." He looked unsure and I knew he didn't want to. I shrugged. "Okay, I'll see you at home." He moaned. "Fine, but you have to ditch me right now." My face lit up like a Christmas tree and I was truly surprised. "Okay, let's go." * There are a few rules when it comes to ditching class. Rule number one: Don't tell anyone. The teachers, your siblings, your parents. Rule number two: If anybody asks where you were, always say you were sick and rule number three is to have fun. Louisa Shepard didn't know what she was getting into when she agreed to ditch school with Liam Gilbert, her host brother. She had the perfect attendance record, she studied in her spare time and she never missed a class a day in her life. Until she went to America in exchange and met Liam, the guy she could not get away from. Liam did not care about school. They told me to stay away from him, but he had stolen my heart long before that. The whole family was pretty much known as criminals, but there was ever enough evidence to arrest them for anything. Both papa and dad, heck even Alfred, tried to keep me away from them, having figured out that Matt had a thing for me, but what they didn't know is that I had a thing for him as well. The rest of my family kept away from them, where as I tried to get closer, and they were welcoming me with open arms. When Matt has enough of working for a criminal gang due to a sadist leader tormenting me, he takes me from my home, and we leave the state, with a goal to get to Canada before our family's hunt us down. Will my love for him make me become a criminal too? Or will his love for me make him stop being one?
