The Tree That Holds Our Secrets (ON HOLD!!)

Ama is caring for a sick younger sister when all of the money she'll ever needs literally crashes into her. She exchanges the money for a magic book sold by a shoddy peddler, the book may hold a spell to cure Orenda, her little sister.

Elaine had the whole world on her plate. She was lined up to become capitan of the Suryan gaurd, just like her mother. Then, a strange mental illness swept through the city, causing people, particularly Suryan Gaurds, to go on insane killing sprees. Elaine's mother is struck with this illness, and in order to keep her from harming others, Elaine had to take down her own mother. Charged as a murderer, she is chased out of the village and into the woods, where she runs into a dismal girl and bribes her to keep quiet about where she's going.

Azlo is thirteen years old and already a well-respected Astrian sage. On a retreat to the woods, he encounters a running fugitive. After she saltily insults his powers, he casts a spell on her, forbading any form of speak from leaving her mouth. Once she put up a fair "arguement" he agrees to give her her voice back. But when he goes to get his spellbook from the tree he calls home for the time being...it's not there.
