Fight beside you

Erik liked making his game with his pawns. The board would be well balanced if it wasn't for the pawns surrouding Charles' king.
"Tell me, Charles" said Erik, looking up "The politicians are now trying restlessly to make the laws that secure that all of us get excluded from the human society. Maybe killed. How is your search for hope?"
Charles looked at him. They annoyed each other, they always had. Still, Charles missed Erik incredibly help but hear it.
"I haven't given up on it. We will need to unify, more than ever, and somehow convince the humans that they are wrong."
