Hard labor, family and a sense of community. Such was the simple life in the villages. For Tatsumi that was all he knew and all he ever needed. Soon however, nothing of this 'simple' life he cherished would remain but a mere, distant memory. Desperate for income for their village, he and his 2 friends embark on their journey to the capital to enlist for the imperial army. They enter the seemingly pristine and flawless city, slowly being confronted with more and more of its rotten core with each passing day. Tatsumi's journey would propell him forward on a collision course with the city's most depraved criminal scum as well as the infamous assassin guild 'Night Raid' terrorizing the streets. During all of this, he is led astray on a path following the trails left behind by a man whom his village worshipped as 'demi-god'. If wrath is all that remains...who is Tatsumi?
