Human touch can be seen as a reassurance that we are not alone. So much can be expressed through a simple touch; Love, hate, and need. The list is endless. Touch can go from a simple handshake to a friendly hug. It can be meaningless or it can be everything, depending on who the contact is coming from. I was hugged once when I was Eight after my parents died in a car crash. I was told it sent me into a catatonic state, I became totally unresponsive for about two days. After several tests and sessions with a therapist I was diagnosed with Haphephobia which means that I have a fear of being touched. My therapist believes that my parents death is what brought this on. I don't remember much about my parents but I do remember their touch. I remember how my mom would always kiss my forehead before tucking me in at night, and how my dad always ruffled my hair whenever I sat on his lap. It's funny really, I can't remember what they look like but yet their touch is still fresh in my mind. -Sam Samantha Carson has been homeschooled ever since losing her parents in a car accident made her afraid of getting close to anyone. An angel and a rebel. A scholarship girl and a playgirl. When their worlds collide, sparks fly-and nothing will ever be the same. When Enid Jones-straight-A student and the perfect Islamic daughter-earns a scholarship to the prestigious Montrose Academy, she believes her life is finally falling into place. Her plan is simple: keep her head down, ace her classes, secure a scholarship to Yale, work a side job, and one day gain full custody of her younger sister from their abusive father. But trouble has other plans for Enid... and its name is Olivia Grayson. Carefree, rebellious, and notorious for breaking hearts, Olivia is Montrose Academy's golden girl. With her comes the infamous Golden Four, and a whirlwind of chaos Enid wants no part of. At least, that's what she tells herself. Because Olivia isn't just interested in Enid-she's made it her mission to strip away the saintly image everyone sees and uncover the fire hidden beneath. But what if it's Olivia's carefully crafted "bad girl" façade that begins to crumble first... all because of a certain brunette who was never supposed to matter? ๑ "After what you and your stupid friends did to me, isn't it enough? Do you really have to rub it in my face?" I snapped, my voice shaking with fury. Olivia just smirked, stepping closer until her warm minty breath fanned against my lips. My pulse went wild, betraying me. "I'm only just getting started, angel," she whispered in that husky voice of hers. "And I'll stop... the moment I hear you moan my name." ๑ An angel and a rebel. A scholarship girl and a playgirl. Can love survive when it's least expected-or will it destroy them both?
