Dr. Penelope Sharp has been given a new patient. Avery Rowen Callihan, a seventeen year old boy with a record of being "unstable" and "delusional". As Sharp learns more about this odd, non-sensical boy, she finds herself constructing a theory that destroys all of her previous beliefs about reality. In an attempt to stay sane, Dr. Sharp writes down all of her theories and findings in a journal gifted to her by the delusional boy himself.
