Shields are rare. They can use their minds to protect any one they desire. Most shields are sold to alpha's for a defense weapon.

Emma Martinez isn't any different, she's a shield to her former alpha. But when a war erupts, Emma finds herself being transferred to Alpha Asher's pack.
