A feral wolf, anonymously known across the country for his brutal murders, meets his fate, when his most recent prey turns out to be the son of the state's county sheriff.
The stranger is Jeanette Myles, a quick-witted red fox, and she becomes the only animal to have ever questioned his ways, and ideals. Caught off guard by her, he becomes entrenched by her unlikely mercy, and is ultimately lead to his capture after choosing to let her live- something he'd never before done for a witness.
But, while logic, and any kind of sense, tells the fox to let the wolf be brought down, her instincts tell her otherwise- drawn in, and irrevocably beguiled by the predator- as she's torn between what's right, and the wild compulsion that haunts her. Will she choose the life she has comfortably lived, since she was brought to the city and domesticated, or will she give in to her primal instincts, and run wild with the murderer that everyone wants dead?
