Flash forward to many years later when the final action takes place for that savior to be born. Meet Raven Madison. Raven isn't an ordinary girl. From the second she was born she was given a power that could literally save or destroy the world. Due to unfortunate events of her past, her life wasn't the greatest. Right before she was adopted at age ten, she lost all her memories. After the adoption life seemed as normal as possible, besides a few fractured memories of her forgotten past. At the age of seventeen, she now goes by Rae and her only worries are trying to please her parents while also trying to live life the way she wants, forget these recurring nightmares, and survive life at her new school. At her new school, The Academy for the Gifted, Rae is faced with a few challenges by trying to survive high school like any other normal teenager with her two best friends. Aurora opens her eyes only to feel the agonising pain in her body. That is to be expected when there has been an accident. It's excruciatingly painful. In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper.
