"Zayn!", I called after him when I saw him running up the stairs. Why was he avoiding me? He stopped in his tracks and turned around slowly, revealing his eyes that didn't look at me. Instead he kept his eyes on the floor. "Can you tell me whats your problem?" I asked, taking a step forward. "Why would you think that?", he asked casually as if nothing had happened. "You know exactly why." I shook my head. He slowly raised his eyes and looked at me. But he didn't say aything. "Just answer me one question, Zayn. Why did you choose this if you never wanted it? If you didn't like me, you could've just said no instead of agreeing to this marriage and treating me like this." "Treating you like how? What did I do to you?" he frowned, his black pupils dilating in confusion. "You should know better than to ask me that question", I gave him a disgusted look and walked past him, up the stairs and into my room. I can't take this anymore. I have to end it whether they like it or not. ********************************************************************************** Alie's life had been pretty great. She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights.
