A group of 10 very different children are all forced to take refuge in their local hospital due to a dangerous disease outbreak in their hometown, Salem, Oregon. They've got to learn to get over their differences and past conflicts to work together and try and survive the tragedy they're forced to face. Can they do it?

It was dark, wet, and cold, and they were tumbling. Around and around and around. Kate laid on her back stuck in her seatbelt when a figure came slowly toward her... So that's just a part from the book! It's basically about Kate that was in a car accident and lost her mom but her dad left and doesn't want anything to do with them. It was a miracle that she even survived. So now she lives with her Grandparents and her identical twin brothers, Jake and Joshua both 9, and her little sister Ashley, age 7.
