Luna's boyfriend Chad decides to break up with her, in a cafe, in public. Humiliating her further, he calls her roommates/friends Aaron and Riley to tell them that it happens. Broken & confused, she goes to clear her head by the piers. Yelling at fate for a sign, Kieran washes up on a floatie at the bottom of the docks. She takes him home. They feed him, clothe him. He tells them he's a vampire. Aaron's okay with it. Riley freaks out. Luna doesn't know what to think.

Kieran has been asleep for centuries. After waking up on a boat of men he doesn't know, and drifting to shore, he has found he is out of touch with the current times. Aaron has taken it upon himself, imposed upon his girlfriend and friend, with the task of educating Kieran on the wonders of America.
