Who We Were

3 parts Ongoing Mature

Rose Eden was supposed to be Thornwood's perfect princess-wealth, privilege, power. But when your family's legacy is built on lies, control, and betrayal, even the most golden girl can shatter. Now, after spiraling into a world of secrets and chaos, Rose has returned, but she's a shadow of the girl she used to be. The weight of her past clings to her like a ghost, especially the secret she would rather destroy herself over than spill. Caelan Knight isn't the boy she used to trust with all her secrets. He's colder now, broken, and buried under his own demons. Their connection-a burning, twisted chemistry-pulls them together like magnets, but their anger, their hurt, is just as strong. And every time they collide, it's like a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode. As Rose fights to rebuild herself, to find some sense of safety and sanity, Caelan's there-dangerous and devastating, but impossible to ignore. He's the one person who can burn her down, yet he's the only one who truly sees her. And that's the problem. Because falling back into him means risking everything-her heart, her future, and the fragile mask she's worked so hard to keep in place. Secrets don't stay buried in Thornwood, and neither do feelings. And as the past claws its way back into their lives, Rose and Caelan are about to learn that sometimes, the person closest to you is the one who'll ruin you the most.
