Cynical beauty pageant winner Rosalie Baker is not fond of water. Why would she be? It makes her hair frizzy and her mascara run, there is nothing good that comes out of it.

But when she catches Prince Alec Benneton at the edge of the dock, peering over the water about to do the unthinkable, she reels him back before he can take the fateful jump with a few simple words.

From there, an unlikely friendship begins through several late nights and stolen kisses, but something bigger is lurking beneath the waters.
