She was ill. He was healthy. She had loving parents. He had parents who were never around. She had a friend. He was always alone. 

They had so many differences but that's what brought them together.

I was walking down the hall and ran right into Jake, he was giving me a look of sympathy. I didn't like that look, everyone gives me that look when they find out about my illness. 

I looked away to hide the tears but they were coming, a tear slide down my face and I tried walking passed him to get to the girl's bathroom. He grabbed my arm and stopped me turning me around. He lifted my face up and wiped the tears away and said the words I've been dying someone to say.

"I'll always be here for you."
