Dorothea Wilson is no stranger to adversity. Growing up in Harlem in the 1930s was no picnic, and neither were the new challenges that approached her as a black woman in the 40s.
But some things are bigger than her background and somehow she's the only one that knows it. So when her new friends each become apart of the suddenly drastic war effort, there's no way she's sticking in her ghetto and waiting around.
