This is an urban novel about a young African American girl named Aaliyah Kanaan. She's raised into a Muslim family accompanied by her father, younger brother, and step mom. Aaliyah is happy with her religion as far as learning to how love oneself and maintain a righteous being, but all the other rules and shit she can do without. She goes through twists and turns throughout her life having a hard time truly accepting herself. Along her side are her two best friends Zara, who was also raised Muslim, and Marie, who is nonreligious. These three young ladies are an interesting trio, and with "normal" life's temptations testing Aaliyah and her morals, she will slowly reveal the girl hidden under the hijab.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
