16 year old Ellie Matherson thinks her life is nothing. She wonders why people were even brought into this world, and she wonders if they'll ever been taken out. The only thing she knows for sure is that she loves the beach, and so do her best friends Christy, Livvy and Helena. What she hasn't discovered yet is that life holds much, much more in it than just the beach. Although her brother lies to her, her parents have a divorce, one of her closest friends die in a car accident she doesn't find out the meaning of life until the surprise. Then, it all simply clicks together.
