170 years from now, aliens decimate Earth. A relative handful of humans survive, hidden in deep subterranean enclaves that offer some protection from surface radiation. Although the main attack is now seven years in the past, one alien ship remains in orbit, and the conquerors are not content merely to let humanity lick its wounds.

Humanity is greatly diminished, but a few tens of thousands survive, sheltering in huge compounds deep beneath the ground, prepared many years ago against the possibility of nuclear attack by some rogue country.

Five heroic individuals in Compound A-3 take it upon themselves to find a way to save humanity, for in a matter of a few more years, attrition due to radiation will finish the job that the aliens began with their initial attack.

Sethra, a computer programmer and electronics expert, joins forces with Byron, a roboticist with a talent for acquisition and reallocation of others' belongings, as well as with the compound's chief medical doctor, Eddie, and two brave women, one of which is more than she seems.

How do you defeat aliens while hiding in your last refuge hundreds of meters beneath the irradiated crust of the Earth, especially when the aliens are far more sophisticated?

For years, the survivors clung to hope, dreaming of the day Earth would be livable again. That day finally arrives. Kora Meyer, a fiery 19-year-old who has carried the weight of grief since losing her family during the evacuation, is the respected but guarded leader of the group. Her tough exterior hides a deep passion and love for the people under her care. Alongside her stands Xavier Crane, the sharp-tongued yet golden-hearted second-in-command who can lighten any tense moment with a sarcastic remark but secretly harbors an unshakable loyalty to Kora. As they lead their people back to the surface, they find an Earth transformed-not the barren wasteland they expected, but a wild and untamed paradise. However, it's not uninhabited. Scattered across the land are powerful tribes, each with its own traditions, fiercely protective of their resources, and willing to turn hostile when provoked. With danger lurking at every corner and passion igniting between them, Kora and Xavier must navigate the complexities of rebuilding civilization, forging alliances, and keeping their people safe. But as they learn more about the tribes and uncover secrets of the past, the two leaders find themselves drawn to each other in ways they never anticipated. Their chemistry is electric, their connection undeniable-and in a world where survival is uncertain, their love becomes their strongest weapon. Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! "Everything that is alive, can love; it can feel. Even if you think you can't, doesn't actually mean you can't, Walter." Onora Price smiled from behind one of the many trees which were stashed away onboard the USCSS Covenant at the brunette synthetic which stood on the other side, confused frown in place and blue eyes fixated on her as her hands trailed over the bark of the tree. She was wrong, Onora could admit when she was wrong; and she was wrong when she instantly presumed that Walter was incapable of feelings, of emotions, of any sort or type. There was certainly more to the synthetic than she first originally thought, and honestly, when it came to accepting to come onboard the Covenant, the last thing she expected was to discover that even through clever programming, being able to feel could not, and would not be stopped.
