Dawnkit was born into an era of revolution and there is a clear divide between the clan cats of Whisper Clan, Creek Clan, Whirl Clan, and Dusk clan. While some believe in change, others do not, and many of the clans cats are stuck in the old ways. For some of these cats tradition is above all else. In the dawning of this new age, where the warrior code becomes life or death, it is decided that only pure blooded warriors will be allowed to stay within the protection of clan life. All else is purged. In this age, prejudice and hate began to bloom instead of reform and change. Yes, change does set in place... But it is the kind of change which sends Dawnkit's new life to a screeching halt. Those who do not bend are broken, and those who refuse to break are destroyed. Star Clan grows silent and all hope in the light of morning is lost.

They had no apprentices, no she-cats and no kits. The once vibrant Clan was on the brink of dying out. The four Clans would soon be no more. Then, at the next Gathering, StarClan brought a message to the Clans: GrassClan must survive. There had always been four Clans and that could not change. They proposed that volunteers from the other three Clans should join GrassClan to help restore it. Cats were given one moon to consider the offer.
