Some people don't understand the concept of someone's mind when they're at their worst in life. Others grasp the pain these people are in. I am one of those people whom grasp it but also experience it, long term. I am Harper, and I happen to be a young adult suffer many mental illnesses. As I stay in this asylum, I experience not only suffering but love, bravery and paranormal activity. All while locked in a celled room and forced to collaborate with some of the best and worst people I could meet in my 23 years of life. But this asylum holds more secrets than it does people. TRIGGER WARNING *SWEARING* Adventure begins here: 1100s/April 16th since the day I was born nobody cared about me. I was born extremely healthy but I wasn't all normal.... many would say abnormal in appearance. after being sent off the doctor's and nurses placed me in a dark room alone, they've swapped me out for a child who supposedly was "normal" to them. ever since that exact day I was desperate for revenge. locked away in the asylum for 13 years, I became a common attraction I suppose you could call it, personally I found it a repeating nightmare. outsiders clocked in just to see me then clock out over and over till one day I finally had enough. planning to break out I left through my wards closed off window into the outside world alone. disguising myself amongst the commoners roaming the streets and alleyways searching for food and other supplies that could be of use. while searching I come across this building when I realized the horror's that lurked beneath its surface leaving me unprepared for the after math of destruction.

Okay so basically Takemichi is depressed because of what he saw, who could blame him tho. Takemichi can control how far in the past he wants to go, so he decides to save everyone for the millionth time Takemichi is sick because of the overuse of his power. If he does it a few more times he could die. Takemichi does not care, because his friends are more important to him. Sound of a Broken Drum
Syd is living on the edge of his broken psyche when he comes across the person he had been waiting his entire life to meet. As things flourish, the rude awakening of the edict "nothing gold can stay" changes the tune of Syd's life as he finds out a truth that is completely devastating. And in the world of mental illness, this is a particularly harsh reality where Syd has to make a difficult decision on what he has to give up in his life. But even a broken drum has to keep beating. The entire story has been published from Chapter 1 to the Epilogue. It is broken into three parts, each quite distinct from the others as Syd's life is altered dramatically. This thing is a labor of love. After completing the story, I realized how much it meant to me personally. I learned things about myself I did not know until I wrote it. I feel as if from writing "Sound of a Broken Drum", my life has changed. In the way I perceive it and in the way I perceive the world around me. This story is not for everyone. There are a lot of people I know who would never want to read something like this. It's not for the apathetic, the privileged, the ones who coast and indulge in the bullshit. I know a lot of people like that. Maybe I wrote it as a means to get away from them. There are certainly people I feel who would read something like this. The mentally-pained, the loners, introverts, the lonely, those who struggle through the everyday things many people take for granted. Those who know too much. And feel too much. I know what that is like. And I know this is why I wrote it. Because we can share each other's experiences through words, no one has to ever feel like they are alone, regardless of how distant the world is. And regardless of how much trash and clutter from society there is in the way of your field of vision, always know there are those few you will find who will make the struggle well-worth it.
