"I hear my name and I am struck by the sound of his voice. It's been so long since I've heard that gravelly tone with joy hidden underneath. I thought he was gone forever, but now he's back. Ka Leo. My childhood best friend. First I feel fear, because he isn't supposed to be here. Dr. Moe said that he had to leave when I turned twelve. He was the only one I could trust, and he left me. Alone and stranded. I was my own island, and he was the sun. Pieces of me started dying when he left. Of course, I didn't want him to leave, but Dr. Moe told me that it was time. She said he didn't want to be with me when I grew older, that he didn't want me to keep living that way. But the truth was, he was the only reason I was living. And he knew that. Why did he want me to suffer?

Warning: This book contains mature content. (18+) ___________ This is a story where desire and destiny conflate, His fervent heart seeks his destined mate, Because.... "He was bound by obsession, she was bound by fate." __________ He was too absorbed in ogling my exposed breasts, his gaze dark and hungry. I took advantage of his distraction and glanced toward the door. It hung loosely on its hinges, barely attached after his earlier outburst. A cold reminder of his strength, he could easily rip it apart, just like he could rip me apart. If I ran fast enough, maybe, just maybe, I could make it to the front door. I just needed one chance, one opening. With my heart pounding in my throat, I bolted toward the door, adrenaline pumping through my veins like fire. My bare feet slapped against the floor, each step a desperate plea for freedom. But just as I reached the threshold, his arm shot out like a viper, snaking around my waist and yanking me back. I collided with his chest, the impact knocking the breath out of me. His body was a wall of muscle, impenetrable and unyielding. "We have to do something about your running habit, mate." ___________ Please read the trigger warning in the Author's note before continuing.
