Year 2027. Nothing has changed, only the fact that, every October 19th, the Annual Purge is realized.
That year, Taylor, 17, has to protect herself on her own, as her parents get a chance to leave the country for the Purge and they don't consider her.
And, a few blocks away from her house, Jayce, 18, a school friend of Taylor's, also has to spend it on his own, as his sister and mother had to leave to Latin America for his sister's pulmonar operation.
After a few sudden events, and phone calls, Taylor and Jayce seem to end up protecting themselves from the 12 hours of unlimited crime and killing together.
Now, Taylor and Jayce will try to comprehend how love is so valuable and important, as they try to survive on their own.
