My jagged breath grew quicker as I watched the clock, anticipating the moment when the minute hand strikes the twelve. I stood up and slowly walked toward the clock, unsure of whether I should run, hide. I closed my eyes and bit my tongue, tasting the oh so familiar salty taste of blood on my tongue. I counted down the seconds in my head, dreading the moment I reached zero.
Three, two, one.
And right on time, the familiar voice wafted from behind me, "Hey, Jade, long time no see."

"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing.
