Ruth glanced around the room to see what he could have been talking about. If there was once an eagle inside, it was long gone...

In her youth, Ruth Scarlett tasted the sour blood of a forsaken wolf and it forever changed her. She is bound by the moon, and the earth, and the curse of the werewolf. But her mentor, Elias Greenwich, claims to have found a cure to break the cycle and free her, until, in a dreary midnight fog, his genius was lost with the pierce of a blade. There are two species of werewolf: the forsaken wolves are woven into the cycle, like a tumor that is stuck into an ecosystem but does no good. They are immortals who continue their cycle by passing the curse like a disease to a new host.
Then, there are the pure bloods who are born of two other pure bloods and they live and take place in the ecosystem as nature intended; through the journey of evolution. They do not mind when the heartless, parasitic 'forsaken' are being chopped off one by one, until something starts killing pure bloods also.

It is a fight of wolves, for wolves, and for the future prosperity of the cycles of nature.
