Corruption. Brutality. Deception. Injustice. Four words that describe Gotham city in a nutshell. Sure, they may have their Dark Knight, but he's not the sign of hope the people need. He's a product of what the debauched city is capable of creating in times of desperation. He's harsh, unorthodox, and can turn entirely apathetic when it comes to extracting information and serving his 'justice'.
Then, there is Eve.
Decently new to the unwritten policies and way of life in Gotham, she's untainted and impervious to the corruption wrought crime capital. Eve has been aiding Jim Gordon with a few cases privately - due to her being a private investigator - but for her discretion, he has remained unwaveringly silent, despite the rest of the precinct hounding him for his suspicious efficiency in case closing.
A mob war is peeking over the horizon, threatening to run the streets with blood, bullets and a high body count. With the mafia families and rogues on high alert, the last person they would ever expect to dismantle their carefully organised operation is an uncorrupted, virtuous woman from the sunny city of Greenville, South Carolina.
Filled with crime, ass-kicking, deception, love and the dramatic flair of Gotham's top drama queens - otherwise known as the infamous Rogue's Gallery - 'One Winter Knight' tells a tale of Evangeline Winter unwittingly intertwining herself within the tendrils of Gotham's criminal underworld, whilst unintentionally catching the eyes of a certain rodent dressed vigilante and an ex-DA turned crime boss whilst she's at it.
And when does our audacious story begin you ask? Quite simple really.
One cold winter's night, in the notorious, dark city of Gotham.

"I felt like he only saw me as the go-to plan, he placed me in a glass cabinet and only looked at me when he wanted something." After the Death of Jason Todd, [M/N] hung up his cape and switch lanes. He had been Bruce's support, when Gotham Children Services needed Bruce to shape up after Dick's parent's death then they got married. The only get the house ready was in the form of [M/N], his closest piece. When Bruce arrived to the academy after his parents death, he met [M/N] and sought him out to give him peace. Bruce having given what was enough to his husband who loved him dearly, and yet kept himself out of finger-tip reach. Now after many years, [M/N] was wearing down himself, his marriage and his kids. Oh, his kids, his Kids who began taking after Bruce in ways that broke [M/N]'s heart. Maybe they viewed him in a way like an object, that he will always be there and they're right. Now after another missed birthday, [M/N] began to hear and feel things. His family says he's asking for attention, that it's nothing. Until he finds a small door with an interesting key. FULL STORY PUBLISHED. The city bleeds beneath the flicker of broken streetlights, Whispers echo through concrete veins.. Of monsters built in labs. Of kings crowned in crime, Of a darkness even the night won't claim. And above it all, two shadows move. One-a man forged in grief and fire, wearing armor and silence like scripture. The other-a boy born from rubble and ash, his fists quiet, his rage sharper than steel. The world calls them Batman and Robin. Ghosts in capes.. storms without thunder. A father and son not by blood, but by the war they wage. And as venom stains the alleys, as chaos sharpens its knives, they descend once more into the city that made them. Crime doesn't sleep, The night doesn't vanish and give people hope after the sun touches their skin. The heroes of Gotham give that hope. In darkness..and in light. I do not own the rights to the characters in this story of course but Ash Calder, Adrian Locke, Dante Creed and The Gotham Panther who shows once in the story, are original characters with my own ideas and their own backstories that I've created. This universe is not directly based on any specific Batman universe, It has hints of inspiration from other Batman works but ultimately its ideas I've thought of, even if something is in the story that's already been done, It's hard to do something new with these characters when there's so much out about them already, there's years of comic, live action, animated and fan iterations of the universe so it's genuinely hard to think of new events to put the character or characters through, That's why the absolute Batman universe has been getting so much love because of how different it is and how new it is because nobodies done anything with Batman's character or the universe like the creators of the Absolute Batman universe.Complete
