We live in a world that when you are born you have a necklace that is attached to your neck. The necklace is used to know when you'll find your soulmate in life. Each necklace warms up every time you get close to your soulmate. The necklace is a gray heart when you haven't met your soulmate. Once you have met your soulmate it turns into an unbreakable diamond because your love for each other will be unbreakable. Maddie Rivera is 16 and still has not found her soulmate. Her necklace is as cold as ice and has never been warm all her life. After 16 years of waiting for her necklace to give at least just a bit but, she has given up all hope. What she does not know is she is in a bit of a surprise.

All children are born with a heart shaped pendant necklace that isn't replaceable or remove able and when searching for your match the pendent gets warmer the closer you get and colder the further away you are; but when Meg Whitely is born without one she thinks her soul mate just doesn't exist. Her parents keep her powers secret to protect her; Meg is rare with powers growing stronger without her realising it and her parents fear keeping this secret may ruin their relationship with her.
