Grabbing her shoulders and turning her to face me I look into her hazel eyes the flecks of green standing out in the low light, and I tell her, “No, I am not going to leave you, not now not ever. I told you I was going to be here for you and I will, whether you want me to or not I am not giving up on you.” I lay down on the side of the bed and pull her shoulders down so that she next to me. Breathing in the strawberry scent from her hair and shuddering out a breath consequently. I wrap my arm around her waist, and I whisper in her ear, “I have you, everything will be alright.” I squeeze her tighter. Silence envelops the room as we lay in the darkness. Shifting I lay my hand on hers slowly rubbing circles into her wrist with my thumb. She pushes back nestling deeper into my chest. She lets out a long slow breath as I feel her muscles relax next to me. Then, barely audible, I hear her whisper,

“Goodnight Aaron.” I smile into her mass of curls and kiss the top of her head and whisper back

“Goodnight Hannah.”
