**This is a story based on actual events within a match of the game Defense of the Ancients 2. You can view a replay of the game at the right side in a Youtube link and follow along with the story. Chapter 1 & 2 builds up the backstory, and Chapter 3 and on follow the game match accurately by exact timestamps.
Prologue:
Medusa spent her life never understanding why she had trouble with men. In her mind, she was still beautiful, and felt that people who would look away were intimidated. She had typically gone for the bad boys of the Dire realm, the land of people who were diametrically opposed to the Radiant’s existence. And Medusa.., was a Radiant. But, today she was going to venture out further than she did before, into the forest of the Ancients and see if she could find a mate amongst her own people, the Radiants. Little did she suspect, the drama that would unfold.
Rylai was one of the top warriors of the Dire Realm, heralded as the “Crystal Maiden”. Trained in the ways of the ice temptresses, approaching life with a cold outlook, decorated with a pattern of appearing to be annoyed by social interaction, she secretly craves attention deep within. Rylai was always approached by men of the Radiant realm, the “goody two shoes” of the land in her mind. Being both high maintenance and picky, Rylai snobbed most guys away. Little do people know, her preference was the dark mysterious type, the bad boys of the Dire and her icy glare had a fire underneath.
