"No. I'm playing your friend!" I said, and he stopped what he was doing. "I've been where you are James and it sucks! I must have wanted to die a million times, but I had Steve and he had me. Right now, I'm here for you, because I love you." I stopped and so did he. "And if you don't think what I'm doing here has anything to do with me loving you, you're wrong." I felt myself tear up, "don't run away from your problems, because you're scared. You don't have to do this by yourself."
"I've taken care of myself for the last 100 years. I can do more."
"But the thing is...is you don't have to."
