Sophia Akers is well known in the town of Arcata, California for odd stunts, curious adventures, and daring actions. But now Sophia hears a call from the ocean - quite literally. When she sees a glimmering tail on shore one foggy night, Sophia investigates, only to find a wounded mer stranded on the beach. After saving her life, the mer promises to save Sophia's in return. But what Sophia doesn't realize is that the mer means that she'll take her from the life she knows to bring her to the magical ocean kingdom. Sophia must decide whether to stay in her new life with the mer, or return to her old life in Arcata.
