Beauty and the Beast: Rewritten The prince opened the door to his room and walked his way to the bed. Until he caught a glance of something moving in the mirror. He took a step back, slowly turning into the mirror, trying to take a glimpse of that something. He was terrified. His heart jumped in horror. It thumped like a wild animal wanting to be freed. Staring in the mirror was a hairy beast with huge white fangs visible even without gnarling. Its fur was yellowish brown, the same color as his hair. The same bluest blue orbs stared right back at him. He shivered as he felt how cold and unnerving and unmerciful the beast's eyes were. The beast's eyes widened as if it was terrified of what it saw. Finally, the prince let out a loud and horrifying scream. And was surprised that it came as a howl and not a terrifying shriek. Tale as old as time. This is the story of the Beauty and the Beast

Once upon a time in the hidden heart of France, a handsome young prince lived in a beautiful castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was selfish, spoiled, and unkind. He had an entire army of servants there to attend to his every need, most of which were there since his childhood. The prince nearly hated his staff, even when they'd done nothing wrong - and were only trying to meet his needs. One night, during one of the Prince's courting events - a special type of ball, where dozens of young woman would dress up and dance with the prince, in an attempt to win over his heart and become queen to the Kingdom - An uninvited guest arrived. It was a poor, shivering, elderly woman seeking shelter from the bitter winter storm. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince dismissed the woman. As a gift, the old woman offered the prince a single rose, but when he dismissed her again, the woman's outer appearance melted away. Only to reveal a beautiful enchantress. The prince begged for forgiveness, but it was too late - for she could see there was no love in his heart. The enchantress cursed the prince, transforming him into a hideous beast - and if he was unable to learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal from the rose she offered had fallen, he would remain a beast forever. But the enchantress also placed the curse upon his innocent castle staff, who were transformed into antiques; suffering for the prince's mistake(s) in small, rusting, metallic bodies. Life was hard enough for the staff, but now - it was unbearable. ~ This story will go through the staff's struggles before, DURING, and after they were cursed. It will also fill plot holes and extend the ending of Beauty And The Beast. A majority of this story is a prequel, and will fall into a bit of a sequel as well, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
