She had been a half ghoul all her life, unlike he had. She knew how to live undetected, undercover, but he did not.

She saved him, and he could live on, but at one expense : he would become a ghoul.

He didn't know anything -- just recently being brought into the world as a ghoul.
So she decided to help him, like she had done before, and showed him how to live like a ghoul does.
