Sage Barlow isn't your typical small town girl. She doesn't worry about school. Mostly, because she dropped out to help her mother, who was struggling to pay for their bills after her divorce. Now her father, who didn't even pay child support, is looking after her and her sister. This was all to much for Sage, so she ran and moved in with her best friend, out in Chicago. How will she handle it all? Can she balance her past with her new relationships? Or will the pressure be to overwhelming?

"Did you just shoot me?! What the hell is wrong with you?!" I screamed, holding my foot and watching Cassie laugh at the pain searing through me.

In between chuckles she said, "If it makes you feel any better, I didn't do it on purpose." She suppresses a burst of laughter, but it ends up spilling anyways.

"No! It does not, in fact, make me feel any better!" I retorted, leaning on a wooden fence post for emphasis.

Before I could even react, Keeley's tiny arms wrapped themselves around my torso. ~  Garret had a difficult life. His parent's died when he was 10, and he got moved around for 4 year's in foster care. He finally find's a home where he feels like he's family, He has a mom, dad and a brother. 4 years later things happen and everything start's to go wrong. People die and people you thought you knew show a whole different side. Garret finds himself distancing from everybody. Because if he's not close to anybody, they cant get hurt. He seemed surprised for a second but then his face relaxed, as a smirk took place on his lips, he took a few steps towards the door then turned and said "Don't worry Jade, I will have you. Whether you want to or not, I will do whatever it takes to it happen. Mark my words Jade Christina Reaves, you will be mine, and that is a promise."
