Alice Mayor, writing an English project on the different genres of writing, has been taken around the world while studying the different genres and the typicality that follows them of place and setting and how to write them. On the last leg of her trip she has been taken to Transylvania, Romania while studying her final genre - Gothic. This genre leads her to the mysterious Andrei Lupei and the Lupei family, and while trying to figure him out discovers a hidden secret. Despite finding out abut this secret she has found that she has fallen in love with him, despite what he is and what he's done.

That someone just happened to be a vampire. And her mate. As things heat up in Vinnie's life, her friends also go through a challenging and changing time of their own. With all of their paths crossing, things begin to get dangerous and the friends soon find themselves in trouble.
