On her 10th birthday, while having a family reunion, the building her whole family was in collapsed.
Completely orphaned, and unwilling to go to an orphanage, she ran away.
Now she's 12 and almost completely alone, with only her kitten Blackberry and a unpredictable 21 year old woman as company.
One day, she meets a man. That man befriends her and brings her to a new place where she will be accepted.
Will she find a new family there, too?

However, it turns out that her mother is a member of Rittenhouse, just like her father. Both are descendants of founding members. In the meantime, Lucy realizes she has feelings for her partner, Wyatt Logan. But she is not alone with these feelings, because Wyatt feels the same way too. The two are afraid to confess to each other because they feel that they might not be good enough for each other. Lucy fears that she will bring back too many memories to Wyatt, of his deceased wife, Jessica. Will Lucy get her sister back? Will Lucy and Wyatt get together? Or will Rittenhouse ruin it all?
