A group of astronauts are sent into space to live on the moon to do scientific studies. But they end up loosing communication with earth half way through their studies. Two years later when they are ready to come back to earth they crash land,
loosing almost 3/4 of their men. When they leave their space ship they see that all of the humans on earth had disappeared and the world was in a horid state.

Some people left to take their chances in the new wild but those who were left spent hours pondering solutions as the power dwindled and the life-force faded. The outsiders were deranged and barely human, changed by the radiation of the sun, they were taken into the bases and were sedated and hooked up to the power source.
