I'm never the lucky one of the bunch. I mean I get good grades and I have friends, but my life at home is nothing special. My mother works day and night to keep us living in our house, and my father- well, I don't know where he is. He left when I was a baby. I've only seen him in pictures, although we don't have many. Mom threw most of them out when he left. Mom says he was a dark part in her past, even though he saved her from an abusive father. They met each other in high school and became close. When my dad found out about her dad, he flipped and they left the next morning. I don't understand why he's so bad, I might never know.
