Prologue Neha's POV He held me tight by my waist against the wall preventing me from escaping. His grip was so tight I was sure it would leave a bruise. "Haven't I told you how ugly you look, how ungraceful you are and how wretched you are?" He asked me in a calm voice that sent shivers down my spine. He continued before I could even utter a word. "I will never love you, I can't even like you. You are such a disgrace to me that I will only HATE you" He shouted at my face and left me broken. This time his words hit me hard emotionally and physically.I fell to the ground sobbing my heart out hoping someone out there would reduce the pain in my heart. But I should have known that I'm alone, have always been so.

As I walk into the school, he spots me and immediately starts talking to me. I brush past him, ignoring him, but today is definitely not my lucky day... He grabs my arm firmly, stopping me, and turns me to face him. The pain on my face contorts his expression. "What's wrong, Emma? Lost your voice, lizard?" I don't look at him; my head is hung low once again. "When I'm talking, you need to look at me!" he shouts, lifting my chin so I have to meet his gaze. I look at him, but it's not with innocence; it's with anger. "Oh, look, Emma's angry, everyone!" he mocks. "Just leave me alone," I say, meeting his eyes as I pull my arm free from his grip and walk away. He stares at me, shocked, as do all the kids around us, not expecting what I just did.
