In a world where death is ordinary, daily - expected, no one questions how it came to be. No one wonders how they can tell, or how it doesn't get to them. Why they don't feel. Except Tara. Tara has always questioned the Governs. The people in control of everything. The Govern has kept the world at equity and peace for a thousand years. The Govern has stopped wars, disease and most importantly - the ability to feel. On the Governs thousandth anniversary an outbreak occurs at the convent. Every student is taken to the Centre. The are given the choice, to have Their Day - or the antivirus. Tara hears the voices in the overhead speakers. The rebels who say the Govern are lying about The Day, the antivirus and the capability to feel real emotions. Tara must be inside for as long as she can to help the rebels, to save her family from their ill fates. She can see their deaths, only not her own. For she - is the Seyer of her city, the mishap, accident. The one the Govern hadn't planned for.

Luna Vis woke up one morning, or rather one night, to the dim light of the moon. It was a day that started like any other, but turned out unlike any other, setting off the chain reaction that set her life ablaze for a second time. For six years she had lived a new normal after her life was uprooted, but now everything was on the cusp of changing again. Almost exactly six years prior, the world as it was had changed entirely for half of the world. And over a century prior to that, the world had burned. The world burned in silver and in gold, and out of the ashes rose a phoenix: a new dawn for civilization. New cities, new ideas. New weapons. New... insurance policies. Now Luna and her friends are learning first hand what being on the front lines of a war is like. Now they are finally learning what it was the government had kept so secret for six years. Now it is all up to them, but more specifically, up to Luna to stop The Eye and the White Sand from ruining everything. Only months away from her sixteenth birthday, she is handed a purpose that may just be worth a sacrifice. Soon the world will be normal... whatever she chooses that to be.
