To Be a Pirate by Curon32

There's a kid, someone who no one knows. He thinks he's got the spark of a true pirate, a life he's only seen in his dreams. After facing a real pirate for the first time in his life, this kid has a very particular decision to make: Go home, or find out what it takes to be a pirate.

Nathaniel has been a pirate for half his life, sailing the clouds on airships powered by steam and magic. He has grown tired of the danger and hardship and wants to start a new life free of his past, perhaps with a woman by his side. This is a rewrite of my earlier short story "A pirate's last flight." I decided to rewrite it for a couple reasons. First to refine it and polish it a bit more. Second, and more importantly, to put it in the low fantasy/steampunk inspired world I'm currently writing other stories in.

The Governments of the floating cities scattered across the thirteen skies do nothing but make it hard for an honest man to make an honest living. The Good Captain takes to the skies once more. This time he is taking matters into his own hands. To hunt down and destroy the pirates that have for so long caused him grief. Even if, by the Government's definition, that makes him a pirate as well. Will Captain Jessip Sharp rid the skies of pirates, or will he soon discover that maybe the pirates aren't so different from himself. My name is Demon. And I hope you enjoy my steam powered, post apocalyptic story of airships, flying cites, and crazy redhead pirates.

When Sky joins a navy Brig she is hoping to find out any information about her brother, who left to serve the king, as well as escape the town she no longer feels at home in. But that all that changes when pirates board their ship and her life is thrown out of whack as she must make the decision between the Law and freedom. The Kings men and Pirates. But most of all she must choose between her brother and a man she really shouldn't be falling for. Warning; contains sexual references, occasional swearing and violence, a lot of violence (in the form of battles and blood etc.) Hope you enjoy!
