Providence's 15 life isn't like a normal teenagers, it's full of complications. She has to raise her little brother so that he doesn't get miss treated by his biological dad and step mom. Providence doesn't like to talk about what happened to her mom. She feels like the only one she can trust is her little brother. One day before she goes to high school Providence takes her little brother to Starbucks. She meets a guy named Eli. When she arrives at school she finds that he goes to school with her. They get closer and closer with each month that passes. But what happens when a school shooting breaks out? Will they be separated for life by the fate of death?

They're seniors in high school but because of the war, they've been separated on government orders. No one is allowed outside because the government is making people to believe its toxic.
