Her best friend Emily Clark is her neighbor and only lives with her mom. They moved in with Ella's family after Emily's dad died in an accident last year. Ella and Emily decided on going to College in Queens New York to get away from Ella's ex-boyfriend who abused her. She doesn't know much of what he does but she doesn't wanna find out anytime in her future.
