Esmeralda Wynter Dianne is a lone witch, living in the forest of Geranium. She's lived peacefully for 10 years, avoiding conflict with others, remaining quietly in a cottage. However, all this changes when she's found, and the King's men are sent after her. After all, witchcraft is strictly forbidden, and those who practice it are killed immediately.
Marcus Sebastian Coeus is a high ranked warrior in the King's army. He has hunted and killed witches since youth, and has never encountered a problem. He is arrogant, rude, and confident. All his life he has lived in the palace alongside royalty, and never has to wait for another meal. One day he is assigned to kill a witch in the Geranium woods, and then his life is turned around.
Marcus and Esmeralda are stranded, lost, and alone in the Dark Woods. Now they will have to step out of their comfort zone and rely on each other to survive.
