Harper Horton has lived in an orphanage for five years, having been abused by her father after her mother's death. She was taken away from her only friend, who wasn't even her own age, as she was homeschooled. To add to it, nobody wants an older child. They want the little girls and boys. Now fifteen-year-old Harper has to deal with the bullying of the older children, the ones that take out their insecurities on others. She now believes that she's fat, ugly, and will never be loved. Soon, two caring people take her in.
