She was de-transforming...
"Hello Ladybug," a voice said. "Oh, turns out the girl behind the Ladybug mask is none other than our own very clumsy Marinette."
Ladybug realized the voice quickly. Suddenly there was light, and she was face to face with Lila.
"Lila! Where am I?! What's going on?!"
"Ladybug, or should I say, Marinette. I'm here to teach you that being on Hawk Moth's side is the best side to be on. He's the good guy. He can help you, and me!"
"But I don't need help!" Marinette yelled, realizing that she was tied up. "Hawk Moth is the bad guy, believe it or not!"
"Oh Marinette, I knew you would say something like that," Lila chuckled. "Which is why I'm here to change you."
"What are you going to do?!"
"Oh Marinette. If I told you, in less than a few hours, you wouldn't even remember," Lila laughed.
"What... What does that mean?!"
"Just sit and relax. I'm here to change you!"

When Lila captures Ladybug and tramples with her memory, Marinette is left to think that Lila and Hawk Moth are the good guy.
She's filled with lies, but she doesn't know that.
Adrien/Chat Noir refuses to give up on changing Marinette back the way she was.
