The United States is divided into two governments who will capture and even kill people who want to explore away from their villages. There is a wall in between the places where each government lies, separating families and friends. The only thing keeping the citizens in place besides the governments are the mutant creatures they created called Pecus. The Pecus roam outside the villages and kill whomever happens to stumble across their paths. However, these three things don't scare Elliot enough to stop him from getting back to his true love Aspen, who promised to always wait for his return. But will he be able to survive long enough to reach her?

She is also Caleb's "sister". Since Bradly is an ass towards both Ella and Caleb they decided to join forces and stick together. Bradley (Brad) is 16 and also has secrets. He doesn't have friends and is kinda shy. He has a hatred in his heart towards the world and no one knows why. Caleb is 14. He is like Ella's brother. They sick up for each other and do fun things together. He loves his dad and doesn't see the wrong in most things. One day Caleb tells Ella that Bradley and him are going on a trip with their dad and that she should go. She said yes, of course. Little did she know, what started out the shooting lessons in the middle of the woods would turn into their worst nightmare. Bradley has to reveal some secrets along with Ella and he has to start using his brotherly love and instinct to survive. What happens when Ella discover the biggest secret the boys have.
