They both died and are now stuck there. But, ghosts aren't supposed to be in the monster world, but the afterlife, so why are they there? When they arrive, they are told to go to a boarding school called "Nightshade Academy". The Nightmare Society

7 parts Ongoing Mature

Spencer Nyxwell doesn't fit anywhere. Not in Ashthorne, not in public school, not even in her own skin. She's a witch with powers she can't control and a bloodline her mother refuses to explain. When her temper sets her principal's car on fire, she's sent to Nightwell Academy, a school where monsters, witches, and outcasts are locked away from the rest of the world. Nightwell is supposed to keep her safe. Instead, it drags her straight into a nightmare. Students vanish. A portal splits open in the woods. Spencer rips a seventh grader out of a world that feeds on fear, only to discover her own father might be trapped inside it. The Society swears they're protecting the school from the Nightmare World. Their leader, Jake, wants her to join them. But their power feels more like worship than sacrifice, and the closer she gets, the more the shadows crawl.
