Five centuries after the human race was imprisoned on its thirteen colony worlds, isolating them from each other and keeping man from travelling the stars, two men discover the massive form of a mostly intact battleship derelict, they set out to return it to working order.

The Hunters are among the creations, have had enough spending time in containment, in solitude, and in nearly painful struggles of survival. It's time for their escape. Their freedom. And it's time for them to resume their freedom as living, breathing things. Because that's the life they deserve.
