After 6 years of being banished and destroyed to the Arctic and the Crystal Empire being saved. King Sombra has been revived and is back to take over the Crystal Empire again. He has the Crystal Empire in his palms again. After Twilight and her friends hearing the news. They needed to go stop King Sombra. But King Sombra defeated them instead. He has the mane 6 and Spike enslaved except for one pony, Twilight Sparkle. He wants her as his queen but she says no at first. Then King Sombra uses her friends against her by almost killing them.
